Chaiya started working in traditional medicines in 1995 as an Ayurvedic assistant. Since then she has worked as a massage therapist, doula, and acupuncturist, with minor forays into the world of realty, insurance, and even photography. She graduated from Bastyr University with both her masters and doctoral degrees in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the DAOM being the highest degree in the field. Her dissertation was on the intersection of chronic pain and how unresolved emotion contributes to pain management challenges. She spent 2 years working at Harborview Medical Center on the Acute Pain Service team as an acupuncture intern. She founded and opened The Village Acupuncture & Health Clinic in May 2022. Chaiya is also the current President of Washington Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine Association, the Washington State association of acupuncturists. She loves helping her colleagues through education and legislative leadership. When she’s not in the office, you’ll probably find her surrounded by animals out in the garden.
