Wen Yu holds a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Victoria. He has received training in Canada, and the United States, gaining diverse and invaluable clinical experience across various healthcare systems. Currently, Wen works at Vancouver General Hospital in the Emergency Department and Acute Geriatric Unit, where he combines his expertise to address complex and urgent care needs, particularly in the elderly population. He also completed a clinical rotation at VGH’s Outpatient Trauma and Hand Clinic, where he gained extensive experience in post-fracture rehabilitation for the knee, ankle, elbow, shoulder, and common hand and finger strains. Before becoming a physiotherapist, Wen worked as an athletic coach for five years during his undergraduate studies, training collegiate athletes in powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting to enhance their athletic performance. Fluent in both Mandarin and English, Wen recently achieved the Level 3 Cardiorespiratory Rehabilitation certification, enhancing his ability to manage respiratory and cardiovascular conditions with advanced techniques. Additionally, he holds the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) Level 1 certification, emphasizing his proficiency in musculoskeletal therapy. In his free time, Wen enjoys both learning and teaching clinical Pilates to meet the unique rehabilitation needs or fitness goals of his clients.
