Karen had received her Diploma in Massage Therapy from the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT) in August of 2023 and had graduated with placement on the Dean’s List and as well as the Clinical Distinction List in recognition for her efforts during her studies. During this time, she also had the opportunity to go on a number of outreaches including Ronald McDonald House Charities, PARC Retirement Living, Union Gospel Mission, Helping Spirit Lodge Society, Vancouver Friends For Life Society, and UBC ICORD. Past education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with a Minor in Psychology from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Karen hence welcomes any individuals who may have orthopedic injuries such as sprains or strains, central nervous system conditions, spinal dysfunction such as scoliosis, systemic conditions, peripheral nerve conditions, and of course as well as anyone who may feel that massage would be beneficial to their general health and overall wellbeing. Additionally, Karen utilizes a number of different techniques during her treatments and has experience with incorporating Myofascial Release, Swedish Massage, Joint Mobilizations, Trigger Point Therapy, PNF Stretching, Neuromuscular Therapy, Deep Tissue Techniques, and the Muscle Energy Technique. During her free time, you may find Karen enjoying physical activities such as volleyball, ultimate frisbee, basketball, badminton, and as well as lifting weights at the gym.
