Born in Richmond Hill, Ontario and raised throughout Ontario, Oregon, and BC, Sam graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science (Combined Major in Science) degree in 2016. Amidst the chaos in 2020, Sam completed his Master of Science Degree in Physical Therapy at Queen’s University and returned to Surrey, BC to begin his adventures as a physiotherapist. Sam is a strong advocate for patient-centered care. He believes in facilitating collaboration with the patient to reach their rehabilitation goals and empowering them through education. Sam considers the most important asset in life is your health. Ultimately, he wants to help as many people as possible to retain and improve their functional capabilities, in order for them to continue to participate in their meaningful activities of life. Sam continues to learn and improve his craft to better serve the community. Outside of physiotherapy, he enjoys stomping on mountains, crimping indoor climbing holds, drop-shotting tennis balls, grunting when lifting weights, and diversifying his literacy through manga. He is currently improving his abilities to draw portraits, film, and video edit.
A 60-minute Physiotherapy Initial Assessment is designed to thoroughly understand your condition and create a personalized plan to help you reach your health goals. During your first visit, your physiotherapist will begin with a comprehensive assessment, which includes discussing your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, and goals for recovery. This is followed by a detailed physical examination to assess movement, strength, mobility, and any areas of pain or dysfunction. Based on these findings, your physiotherapist will explain the cause of your symptoms and how they relate to your body and movement patterns. Together, you will collaborate on a personalized care plan designed to support your recovery and help you achieve your healthcare goals. Our clinic specializes in manual therapy, soft tissue release, and active rehabilitation, and treatment may begin during the same session. When appropriate, your physiotherapist may also incorporate additional techniques such as IMS dry needling, sport taping, or shockwave therapy to support your recovery. Our goal is to ensure you leave your first session with a clear understanding of your condition, a structured treatment plan, and the confidence that you are on the right path toward recovery.
