Melissa Johanson has been practicing Massage Therapy since graduating from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2005. She has worked as a Clinic Supervisor for the WCCMT & VCMT in-reach programs for patients with Multiple Sclerosis, and several outreaches that include: Friends for Life – patients living with HIV, Aids or terminal illnesses; Louie Brier Home for the Elderly; and the Burn Unit at Vancouver General Hospital. All of this education and experience, both professional and personal, is drawn upon and brought into every session with Melissa. Melissa has worked with both amateur and professional athletes over her career. Providing Massage Therapy to support the treatment & recovery of various sports-related injuries. She has participated in many sports herself and understands the dedication to training and occurrence of muscle imbalances and Injuries due to sport. Another professional passion of Melissas is Women’s Health Care with specific training in treating pregnancy, post-partum, post-caesarean (scar tissue) and teaching parents infant Massage Therapy to use at home. Being an educator herself, Melissa believes education is a lifelong process and continues to take courses to add to her practice. She has been living in Squamish for 4 years and loving all that it has to offer – especially the beautiful outdoors.
