Dr. Kelsay Smitherman graduated magna cum laude from Logan University in St. Louis, Missouri in 2016 and began working at Body in Balance Chiropractic following her graduation from chiropractic school. Dr. Kelsay loves the holistic approach of chiropractic and believes in the body’s ability to heal itself. She is passionate about helping people discover and incorporate natural and alternative approaches to health so that each person can live their best life possible! Dr. Kelsay is certified in Webster technique and prenatal chiropractic through the ICPA, and provides quality chiropractic care for the whole family. In addition to chiropractic, Dr. Kelsay has completed 300 hours of acupuncture training, and is a Certified Chiropractic Acupuncturist and a Diplomate of Chiropractic Acupuncture through the International Academy of Chiropractic Acupuncture. Dr. Kelsay was born and raised in Peoria, Illinois. She began her studies at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA, where she received her bachelor’s degree in exercise science. During her time there, she had the experience of a lifetime when she studied abroad for a semester in London, England. After she finished chiropractic school, she heard Texas calling and has been loving it here ever since!
Acupuncture
Treatment limited to one small/extremity joint (foot/toes, ankle, knee, elbow, wrist, hand/fingers). Includes review of previous treatment and follow up treatment. Small needles are inserted into specific points along energy meridians to direct the movement of Qi according to traditional Chinese medicine.
Chiropractic
For existing patients - Chiropractic Treatment plus 15 minutes of muscle stimulation treatment with heat/ice to relax tight muscles prior to the adjustment.
