Heather attended the American Professional Institute at Lake Lanier School of Massage in Georgia. As a youngster she would accompany her father, an avid power lifter to his gym where she would learn how to tape, stretch and massage the other athletes. She saw how this work would help the exhausted muscles recover quickly and how it helped others avoid injury. Heather's love of people and her desire to truly help others whether it be therapeutically helping an injury or just giving an hour of relaxation to a client has led her to the conclusion that for her, this work is a passion and a calling.
Intense Therapy massage focuses on a specific problem, such as chronic muscle pain or injury rehabilitation. The Therapist utilizes deep pressure with elbows, palms & thumbs and is sometimes uncomfortable. It is not suited for clients new to massage. Can lead to bruising. We utilize massage techniques to break up scar tissue and physically break down muscle "knots" (bands of painful, rigid tissue) that can disrupt circulation and cause pain, limited range of motion, and inflammation.
