Ashton is a graduate of Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapy. He specializes in specific assessment and treatment of the musculoskeletal system, using advanced mobilization techniques along with his massage to correct various muscular and structural problems. Ashton is also a certified sports massage therapist and when he is not at the clinic, he is teaching exercise rehabilitation and exercise concepts at Wellington College, as well as assisting teaching the advanced practical hands on class.
This massage begins with a general/verbal assessment keeping the client’s lifestyle and complaint in mind. The main purpose is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. It helps shorten recovery times from muscular strain by flushing the tissue of lactic acid, uric acid and other metabolic wastes. Swedish massage also stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them subtle and pliable and stimulates the skin and nervous system. It reduces both emotional and physical stress.
