Coming from four generations of Western doctors, Dr. Stephen Thompson was introduced to medicine at a very early age. Dr. Thompson has been in the field of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for 18 years, Clinical Massage Therapy for 20 years, Nutrition Therapy for 8 years, and finished his doctorates in Chiropractic Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2019. He has also studied and practiced martial arts including Tai Qi and Qi Gong for many years. Dr. Thompson is an Assistant Professor at Northwestern Health Sciences where he lectures on Integrative Care, Orthopedic Care, Treatment of the Medically Complex, and is a clinical supervisor in the Human Performance Center. Outside of his clinical practice and teaching, Dr. Thompson consults and lectures on a variety of health care topics including health and wellness, chronic pain conditions, integrative medicine, and human performance. He joined Cultural Chiropractic in North Minneapolis part time to partner with and educate underserved and minority communities. Dr. Thompson believe that wellness is not a destination but an ongoing lifestyle that promotes one’s best self.
Acupuncture
This first visit includes a full assessment of your physical, emotional, and energetic patterns from the lens of East Asian medicine. We’ll explore your health history, pulse, and tongue, then begin care using acupuncture and/or Asian bodywork (such as cupping, gua sha, or tui na) tailored to your needs.
