Kym Van Duynhoven, BA Kin, MPT Kym completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia in 2016. She then went on to complete her Masters of Physiotherapy; graduating from Western University in 2018. Following graduation, Kym completed a Sport Physiotherapy Fellowship at the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Centre working specifically with the rehabilitation of varsity athletes. She was given the opportunity to work with Western University’s Soccer and Rugby teams providing on field medical coverage. She has also worked with High School athletes in the sports of hockey, basketball, and volleyball. A former varsity soccer player, Kym competed for UBC for four years, helping the team win the 2015 national championship and earning tournament all-star honours. She completed her final year of eligibility at Western University in 2016. Her own experiences with sports injuries have shaped her empathetic, patient-centered approach to rehabilitation. Kym is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). This nationally recognized designation reflects advanced postgraduate training and rigorous examination in the assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. Kym has a special interest in treating and assessing sports-related injuries, lower body injuries, running-related injuries, and neck related pain. Her treatment approach combines evidence-based manual therapy, exercise prescription, education, acupuncture, and dry needling to create individualized care plans. Outside the clinic, Kym enjoys running, hiking, yoga, weightlifting, cycling, golfing, and spending time outdoors with her husband, daughter, and dog, Kali.
