About Dr. Benitez: Physical Therapist - Orthopedic and Sports Performance Specialist Dr. Charles Benitez earned his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Nova Southeastern University and went on to complete his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of St. Augustine. His experiences built a strong foundation in sports medicine, performance optimization, and orthopedic rehabilitation. With experience treating a wide range of orthopedic and sports-related injuries, Dr. Benitez has worked with youth athletes, weekend warriors, general orthopedic patients, and high-level professional athletes. His background in athletic training strongly influences his treatment approach, allowing him to integrate advanced manual therapy techniques with functional strength and performance training. He believes in looking beyond the site of pain, evaluating movement patterns, biomechanics, and whole-body function to identify the true source of his patients’ symptoms. His goal is not only to alleviate pain, but also to optimize movement and prevent symptoms from returning. He remains committed to evidence-based practice, continually studying emerging research and blending it with his clinical experience to provide the highest level of care. Growing up as a soccer player without guidance on injury prevention or performance training deeply shaped his passion for education and proactive healthcare. Today, he strives to empower his patients with the knowledge and tools needed to stay healthy, avoid serious injuries, and perform at their best both in sport and daily life. Outside the clinic, Dr. Benitez enjoys staying active through pickleball and weight training. He also loves exploring new healthy restaurants, spending time with friends and family, and watching football.
For new patients the initial evaluation starts with a full-body biomechanical assessment. It covers a thorough history of your injury, testing of all involved structures to determine the true cause of the issue, and formation of a comprehensive and specific plan of care. This is followed by manual techniques and corrective exercises to begin the healing process. Evaluation will finish with creation of a Home Exercise Program (HEP) for the client to perform when not in the clinic.
