About Me: Hello and welcome! I’m Dr. Mónica Anastayza (a-nuh-sta zia,) a Doctor of Oriental Medicine (DOM) and a proud native of the enchanting land of New Mexico, where the warmth of the sun meets the rich tapestry of diverse cultures. Born and raised right here in Albuquerque, my journey in Oriental Medicine has been a lifelong exploration of holistic wellness, and I am honored to share the benefits of this profound healing art with my patients. My mission is to empower individuals to take an active role in their health. Education and Credentials: I earned my degree in Oriental Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College in Albuquerque, where I immersed myself in the study of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), acupuncture, herbal medicine, and holistic healing practices. As a licensed DOM, I bring a comprehensive and integrative approach to healthcare. I am nationally board-certified Diplomate in Chinese and Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (NCCAOM) and licensed Doctor of Oriental Medicine in the state of New Mexico. Philosophy of Oriental Medicine: My practice is grounded in the principles of Oriental Medicine, which views the body, mind, and spirit as interconnected. Through acupuncture, herbal remedies, and lifestyle guidance, I aim to harmonize the body’s vital energy (Qi) and restore balance, facilitating the innate healing capacities within each individual. Community Involvement: My approach to medicine is not just clinical; it’s rooted in the understanding of the unique needs and cultural diversity that define our community. I actively engage in giving back to the community by working with veterans, volunteering and treating those in need through local community outreaches and non-profit organizations, as well as offering acupuncture treatments to the indigenous elders from our enchanting lands. My goal is to advocate for cultural health equity and make Oriental Medicine accessible to all who seek its benefits. Holistic Treatment Modalities: My comprehensive approach includes acupuncture, herbal medicine, and cultural healing practices that have been passed down through generations. I guide my clients toward balance, vitality, and resilience. Every treatment plan is a collaboration, recognizing the uniqueness of each individual’s health needs.
