I decided that I wanted to become a Chiropractor when I was just 9 years old, on the day of my very first chiropractic adjustment! My family would attend our visits together, and that is still my favourite way to experience chiropractic… adjusting multiple generations together in one room! Something called me to chiropractic that day, and it has not left my life since. My wonder and awe for chiropractic have been especially ignited after becoming a mother and watching my newborn’s brain and neurology develop through his milestones and growth… right before my eyes. I truly believe that the health of our family unit depends on us as parents. It is imperative that we pass down a hopeful vision for health that is far greater than the norm. This means leading by example and putting health as a top priority in every decision we make, for all family members. I believe “just adding chiropractic” to the family routine is one of the best ways to minimize the effects of stress, sports, and daily life. Through chiropractic, we can maximize the potential of the human body and brain to thrive, heal, and adapt to everything we throw at it. I’m humbled that so many three- and four-generation families have joined my practice, showing they understand there is immense value in chiropractic care for all ages. It’s a privilege to be asked to care for someone’s most valued people. Most recently, I’ve completed extensive postgraduate work to expand my proficiency in caring for the littlest of patients. These certifications include: Webster Certification (for pregnancy), intraoral work for babies with nursing concerns and infant TMJ dysfunction, assessment of milestones and retained reflexes, cranial work for plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome), and I’m a Certified Pediatric Posture Specialist through the American Posture Institute. I also incorporate Acupuncture, Graston Technique, kinesio taping, and cupping into my practice… because littles grow into athletes, and athletes become weekend warriors who now spend their workdays leaning over computers! When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me trying to keep up with my husband, Paul and my little dude, Birch (born in 2016). We’re often in nature and on skis whenever possible, the downhill, cross-country, or water kind. I’m passionate about movement and keeping myself strong enough to carry my son up the stairs to bed. He now gets a kick out of it, and bedtime goes that much smoother. My own adjustments help me tolerate the aftermath! Finally, I’m proud to say that Peak Health & Wellness has been empowering Brooklin families for over 15 years, since I founded it in 2010. Our entire team shares a passion for serving this community…and it shows in the care we deliver, no matter which team member you see, including our administration! I hope you’ll continue to choose the Peak team as your trusted healthcare advisors for these reasons and more!
