Cosmetic Acupuncture is a non-invasive way to look and feel younger. Our acupuncturist are trained specifically in the Mei Zen Cosmetic Acupuncture System that is based on chinese medicine and instilling balance in the body. From a chinese medicine standpoint, the treatment is balancing your overall qi thereby improving your general health. What you are seeing on your face is in part due to the state of your overall health. Benefits including a reduction in fine lines, improved complexion, improved elasticity, a leveling of deeper lines, minimizing jowls defining the jaw line, improvement in acne, rosacea, or broken capillaries, skin is softer more vibrant, cheeks are smoother, reduction of age spot and puffiness. There is even a protocol for the wrinkles on your decolletage- the vertical lines on your neck and chest from sun damage. From a more modern/western point of view... the needles are causing micro-traumas in the skin, which in turn your body releases fibroblasts - the cells that form collagen and elastin- to those sites to heal. The collagen and elastin stores become more abundant from the needling and the use of multiple points on your face balances the dispersal of collagen which improves the overall skin tone, elasticity and suppleness of the face and lifting the overall energy.
