Five-Element Acupuncturist and Associate Practitioner of Acutonics Charleanne graduated from the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture with a Masters of Acupuncture and a certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine. Having worked as an R.N. for six years at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eugene, OR, she realized a need for a modality that treated the psycho- emotional aspect of chronic illness and pathology. After travelling to Gainesville, Florida to learn this unique form of Chinese medicine, she is delighted to share her knowledge with the Portland community. In addition, she is currently a student in the advanced level Acutonics program offered through the Acutonics Institute of Integrative Medicine based in Tucson, AZ. She has studied in Todos Santos, Mexico with senior faculty member, Lynn Wedekind, M. Ed., who, as a former Physical Therapist and concert pianist, has developed a system of correlations between music intervals and Asian acupressure. She has also trained with Joanie Solaini in Salisbury, UK who specializes in ancient Greek/Roman influences on modern psychology and has the expertise to integrate the European and Asian roots of the Acutonics sound healing system, which is a modern healing modality.

New Patient Acutonics Appointment

Acutonics combines acupressure and treatment of the traditional Chinese primary and special meridians with sound healing. Using tuning forks on acupressure points is a powerful stimulus to the body’s innate healing capacity. The ancient Chinese assigned a specific musical note to each of the five elements and to their associated organ systems and energy pathways to stimulate a certain emotion. In addition to treating most pathologies and complaints affected by acupuncture, applying sound vibration at specific acupoints has a profound emotional effect on those who receive soundtherapy.
