Haruka has a strong passion for exercise-based therapy and preventative care. About: Haruka’s journey into physiotherapy was inspired by her lifelong involvement in sports and an appreciation for the connection between movement and overall well-being. Haruka spent eight years as an assistant karate instructor to youth. She achieved the rank of black belt and competed at a provincial level in both kata and kumite. With a background in teaching and a special education minor from the University of British Columbia, she has a deep ardor for working with children and youth. Why she became a PT: Haruka is passionate about the human body and enjoys working one-on-one with clients toward the shared goal of improving their health. She believes that health, mobility, and the ability to participate in activities you enjoy are among the greatest gifts we often take for granted. Athletics: Haruka loves weight training but also balances her exercise routine with hiking Whyte Lake on Sundays, playing tennis, and visiting the driving range – she’s still working on the golfing part!
