Helen is an Orthopaedic and Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist who has a passion for helping moms and women feel comfortable, strong, and confident in their changing bodies. She works closely with her patients to understand their concerns and goals and then creates an individualized, evidence-based plan to help address her patients’ issues. She uses various treatment methods such as manual therapy, soft tissue release, McKenzie method, fascial release, taping, therapeutic exercise, acupuncture, and muscle energy techniques into her care to achieve optimal, lasting results for her patients. After completing her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo (2005) and Master of Science in Physiotherapy at McMaster University (2007), she has continued to engage in professional development to bring the best care for her patients. Her postgraduate training includes the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal program, pelvic health, perinatal rehabilitation, and acupuncture. She is a mom who has used many of the treatments, techniques, and exercises she prescribes for her own prenatal and postpartum patients.

This appointment is for any new patients. This appointment is for prenatal care, postnatal care, concerns of pelvic pain, heaviness, frequency or urgency of urination, leaking/incontinence, perimenopause/menopause changes, and rehabilitation of the pelvic floor muscles (athletes, pelvic surgery, etc.) During this assessment, a complete medical history will be taken and we will look at your concerns and goals. The assessment will include a look at your posture, movement, spine and hips, and an external and internal examination of the pelvic floor muscles. A treatment plan will be discussed and treatment will be included in this appointment.
