I studied Classical Chinese Medicine at the National College of Natural Medicine, graduating in 2016. Since that time I have integrated what I learned in school with direct experience. I have worked with many different approaches to arrive where I am now. I mostly practice a synthesis of Tung and Tan style acupuncture. These are similar approaches sourced from centuries old family lineages which emerged from millennia-old knowledge of the human meridian system. These approaches are deeply effective at cultivating health and correcting imbalance while also being comfortable for the recipient. What does acupuncture treat? - literally anything! Acupuncture is a truly holistic therapy. It can treat every level of your body, mind, and spirit. All physical ailments, all emotional ailments, all psychological ailments, anxiety, stress, immune function, trauma at any level, etc etc. They can all be treated with acupuncture. But you absolutely do not need to be sick or in pain to benefit from acupuncture. Even if you are the healthiest you have ever been in your life, you could still be healthier. All those psychological and emotional self-improvements you want to make, all those behavior changes and habits you want to improve on - acupuncture can help. And most of all - the greatest strength of acupuncture is in regular preventative maintenance and cultivation of health. Through pulse diagnosis I can find your weak links and help you prevent those imbalances from crystalizing as disease in the physical body. What to expect - A brief verbal exchange will be followed by pulse diagnosis. I will then place very small needles at an array of points on the body, mostly on the arms and legs. This is generally not a painful experience. Needle placement is followed by a minimum of 30 minutes resting while the treatment settles into the body. Please be aware it is unlikely you will receive needles directly in the area of disease. Acupuncture is a systemic therapy which helps to re-activate the body’s ability to heal itself. It is not a western interventionist therapy but something completely different. Also please note that acupuncture is a cumulative therapy, so please be patient and consistent with treatments in order to obtain the desired results.
