The Acupuncture & Gua Sha follow-up treatment is designed for established patients who have already completed a New Patient Acupuncture + Consultation Appointment. Gua Sha is a Chinese treatment, similar in effect to cupping. 'Gua' stands for rubbing or friction. 'Sha' stands for congested or stagnant blood at the surface of the body. The red spots and bruising might take 2 to 3 days to heal. Usually a flat tool with rounded ends, gua sha is wonderful at treating stiff upper necks and backs and dealing with everyday stress. Please allow for up to 75 minutes for this appointment.
