You will talk about what’s been bothering you and why you’re turning to acupuncture. Your acupuncturist will gather your health history and do a physical exam to inspect your health needs and identify any concerns. Part of the exam will include checking your pulse, as well as the shape and color of your tongue. (In traditional Chinese medicine, a “tongue diagnosis” is considered a window to your overall health.) The acupuncturist will assess your health and your needs by carefully listening to you. Your acupuncture treatment will be specifically tailored to your personal health and needs. Subsequent sessions will last one hour and also begin with an assessment Go by the acupuncturist.
