Born and raised in Toronto, Dr. Nicole Ballantyne began her academic journey with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo, where she also competed as a varsity athlete in women’s hockey. She went on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. During her chiropractic studies, she also completed certification in Contemporary Medical Acupuncture through McMaster University. With a rehab-focused approach, Dr. Ballantyne combines acupuncture, soft tissue therapy, and targeted exercise rehabilitation to help patients of all ages move better and live pain-free. Whether working with weekend warriors, youth athletes, or individuals managing chronic pain, her goal is always to restore optimal function through personalized, evidence-informed care. Dr. Ballantyne brings over 25 years of experience in high-performance sport, including four seasons with the University of Waterloo Varsity Women’s Hockey team. She currently coaches with the Toronto Leaside Girls Hockey Association. A proud member of the Beach and East York community, Nicole enjoys exploring local restaurants, taking in the natural beauty of the neighbourhood, and being part of its vibrant and diverse culture.
