Arnie Katz has been a licensed massage therapist for over 35 years. His training includes Swedish Massage, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue and nurturing, healing touch. In his work, he strikes a balance between deeper work and nurturing touch as he believes that the body and mind respond and heal best with a combination of the two. He graduated from The Massage Institute of New England in 1986. His work helps reduce general back, shoulders and neck pain and stiffness, lower back pain and recovery from strenuous physical and athletic activity. He has provided massage therapy in private practice, gyms, chiropractic offices, colleges and universities, companies, and some of Boston’s finest hotels. In addition, he has provided pre and post event sports massage at the Boston Marathon, the Pan Mass Challenge, and numerous triathlons. Arnie also has a great passion for teaching and coaching. He has been leading a unique guided relaxation class called “Journey into Deep Relaxation” for many years and offers mindfulness and meditation sessions designed to deeply relax the mind and body, improve mental health, reduce anxiety, and soothe and calm the emotions. He is also a certified professional life coach supporting and encouraging clients to make life changes, and to achieve their goals, desires, and dreams. He integrates his perspective and learning about mind, body, and spirit into all his work. He prides himself on listening well to his clients’ needs and bringing a strong intuitive ability to home in on where people are holding their stress and tension. Whether providing bodywork, teaching, or life coaching, facilitating people in healing, releasing pain and tension, guiding deep relaxation, and supporting personal growth is his deep passion and calling. Arnie’s hobbies and interests include cooking, making art, creative writing, traveling, nature and laughter. He also loves and has a great fondness for dogs and is trained in canine massage.
