After suffering from rugby and other sports injuries, and chronic digestive issues, Phil experienced acupuncture and herbal medicine and his health finally began to turn around. This motivated him to leave his previous field of engineering and pursue a career in Chinese Medicine. Phil moved to Oakland, California and earned his Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences (ACCHS) in 2011. This is also where he met his wife, Shoanie. Inspired to dive deeper into Chinese Medicine, Phil visited teachers throughout the US and China, and in 2020 completed a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Phil specializes in treating pain and orthopedic conditions, as well as complex and chronic disease, such as autoimmune disorders, digestive issues, neurological conditions, endocrine disorders, etc. He loves herbal medicine and coming up with individualized formulas. He teaches at the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Sciences in Oakland, and runs the doctorate program as Dean of Academics.
