John brings over 18 years of experience as a licensed acupuncturist in Portland, where he has had the privilege of working with thousands of patients. As a founding member of Working Class Acupuncture, he pioneered efforts to make acupuncture accessible to Portland’s diverse communities and established an approach that integrates principles of Trauma Informed Care. John specializes in Taiwanese meridian styles of acupuncture, is certified in Chinese herbology, and offers cupping therapy. His treatments emphasize safety, relaxation, and rejuvenation. For over a decade, John held a faculty position at POCATech, where he taught acupuncture theories, techniques, and the nuances of patient-centered care to future practitioners. When not treating patients, he maintains his own wellness through movement arts, music, and gathering with friends—practices that enhance his therapeutic approach.
