After graduating from St. Michaels University School in 1990, she studied science at the University of Ottawa. During her studies, she gained a strong interest in nutritional biochemistry. In 1994, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science majoring in biochemistry. Her paternal grandfather was a traditional Chinese herbalist. Growing up, Dr. Wong remembers many visits to Vancouver Chinatown with her grandfather to pick up his supplies. To combine her interests in nutritional biochemistry and Traditional Chinese medicine, Dr. Wong decided to study naturopathic medicine at the only accredited college at that time in Canada, the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. In 1998, she graduated as a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (ND). The experience of 8 Ontario winters was enough to convince her to return home to Victoria. In the fall of 1998, Dr. Wong started her naturopathic and acupuncture practice at the Colwood Corners office with chiropractor, Dr. Chris Mar. She continues her practice at this location today.
