Fiona has >20 years of experience working as an Orthopedic Physiotherapist within both public (Southlake Health) and private (community clinic) settings. Fiona follows the evidence-based principles and practices of the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) Learn more and is Teaching Faculty with the McKenzie Institute Canada Learn more . The greatest skill of a MDT clinician lies within their assessment, where the information collected is used to understand your particular condition. On completion, you will receive a program designed specifically for you , with emphasis placed on active and patient-driven exercises, not on conventional physiotherapy methods such as laser, ultrasound, shockwave, or electrical stimulation. In addition, education will be provided about the problem itself, how to manage it on your own and how to prevent recurrences in the future. It’s not all work and no play, though… Fiona is passionate about her family and friends and remains active through regular travel, basketball, and running.
Your comprehensive assessment is designed for first-time patients as well as existing patients who are either presenting with a new issue or haven’t visited us in over six months. During your appointment, you will gain valuable insights into your diagnosis, prognosis, and any additional tests and/or investigations that may be necessary. Our goal is to provide you with tailored treatment strategies that meet your specific needs. *Please note that we currently do not accept physiotherapy cases related to Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA) or Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) claims.* Our Chiropractor, Dr. Girdler handles these cases.
