Amanda is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner with a background in Physical Health and Education & Athletic Therapy. Amanda has always been fascinated by the human body, movement and its ability to self heal. She began as an athletic therapist working with athletes of many sport varieties. Eventually she went on to pursue Osteopathy and appreciated its approach to the body. Amanda completed her 4 year Masters of Practice in Osteopathy in 2022 at the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy. Amanda’s approach looks at the collective mechanics of the entire body and treats it as a dynamic unit of function. Amanda strives to help patients reclaim their daily routines and cherished activities by addressing their specific needs. The key process in treatment lies in unraveling the underlying ‘how’ and ‘why’ of patients conditions. In treatment she utilizes gentle and rhythmic motions working through all soft and hard tissues (fascia, neuromuscular, ligamentous and bone) to improve motion and movement symmetry. The focus is on finding health by balancing mechanical load to free up the pathways for nerve, artery, vein and lymphatics - everything the body needs to self-heal and self-regulate. In her free time, Amanda enjoys rock climbing, hiking, reading, and spending time in nature with friends and family.
