Dawn graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy 2001. Since then she has worked in various rehabilitation settings in the public and in the private sector. Her last position, prior to coming to ProActive in 2016, was as the owner of Pearlgate Physiotherapy in Mount Pearl, Newfoundland. Dawn has taken numerous post-graduate courses over the years and has developed a keen interest in the treatment of Temporomandibular Jaw Dysfunction (TMJ), Vestibular Disorders, and Concussion Therapy. She has studied with Dr. Mariano Rocabado, a world-renowned leader in the treatment of TMJ disorders, and is currently working towards certification in the treatment Cranio-Facial Pain (TMJ dysfunction) through the University of St. Augustine. She has studied vestibular therapy with Dr. Susan Herdman of Atlanta, Georgia’s Emory University. She has also taken numerous courses in the assessment and treatment of concussions. Dawn has also taken numerous post-graduate courses in Acupuncture, McKenzie treatment of back and neck disorders, Myofascial Release, ergonomics and occupational rehabilitation. When not working at ProActive Dawn is busy running after her “fur child” Rascal, gardening and spending time with family.
