Originally from Prince Edward County, Katrina grew up loving the benefits of being a part of a small, strong community. Being on various sports teams, coaching youth and enjoying rural living, Katrina found her passion for physiotherapy very early. Her desire grew in high school, when multiple sport injuries, both musculoskeletal and neurological landed her in a physiotherapy clinic for treatment. After experiencing the remarkable impact physiotherapy can have on restoring one’s quality of life, she pursued employment and education in physiotherapy. Katrina graduated from the Fitness and Health diploma program at Humber College in 2013. From here, she was a personal trainer and group exercise instructor for both adults and children. Later she graduated from the Bachelor of Human Kinetics program at the University of Ottawa in 2018 where she spent time researching the social and psychological benefits of exercise for amongst cancer patients. She then went on to pursue her dream and graduated from the Masters of Science in Physiotherapy Program at Glasgow Caledonian University in January 2021. Here she worked in Cardiac Rehab, Adults with Intellectual Disabilities, Orthopaedics, Multiple Sclerosis and had a primary desire to focus on Paediatrics, chronic pain and MSK physiotherapy. Since graduating, Katrina was a physiotherapist in England at a private physiotherapy clinic where she provided treatments for many MSK and sports specific injuries. With both fitness and health promotion education and physiotherapy experience, Katrina is able to tailor your treatment session so it includes a combination of hands on treatment techniques, as well as specific rehab based exercises that allow you to reach your specific goals. Outside the clinic, Katrina enjoys traveling and doing any activity outside! She is currently on the hunt for a basketball team to join and looks to volunteer her time supporting youth in sport.
If this is the first time seeing our physiotherapist for this specific injury, we must conduct a full thorough assessment. This will allow time for the Physiotherapist to assess and explain your diagnosis and plan, as well as provide a treatment. All of our assessments and treatments are carried out in private rooms to ensure your comfort.
