Welcome! I'm looking forward to meeting you. Here's information so you can get to know me before we meet and attend to you! My career as an acupuncturist, Asian medicine practitioner, health educator, and movement instructor formally began thirty years ago. It was a winding road that got me here and this path continues to be a source of joy, intrigue, and deep satisfaction. Trained in the US and China, I am passionate about helping people cultivate an awareness of their mind & body — the first step in supporting their well-being. In service to my mission, I create and offer innovative health education programs on mindfulness, movement, self care, prevention and alternative medicines. I'm so enthusiastic about Classical Chinese Medicine and how we can be our own best physicians, I wrote a book about it! You'll learn about this medicine and what self-care practices could serve you well in _To Be Like Water—Cultivating a Graceful and Fulfilling Life through the Virtues of Water and Dao Yin Therapeutic Movement_, available through your local or online bookseller. Finally, I love to move, dance, garden and sing where I live with my family by the clear waters of the South Toe River in Western North Carolina. I look forward to hearing your story!
Acupuncture
Acupuncture and related practices can make all the difference in staying on track to support your wellbeing. This appointment is available only to those who have already had an initial consultation. Treatment begins with a 15-minute check-in (outdoors whenever possible). We tune in with tongue, pulse, and touch diagnosis. You are invited to rest, reorient and reset with acupuncture and related therapies including muscle releases, tuina, cupping, moxibustion.
Physiotherapy
By combining movement with therapeutic touch, you'll find Asian physical therapy relieves tightness, stiffness, and pain while promoting relaxation and ease. I work with Shiatsu massage, tuina, Seiki,Thai yoga massage, and Dao Yin movement practices as I listen and follow where your body leads our attention.
