1194 Lansdowne Drive, 403, Coquitlam, BC, V3E 1J7
Marissa graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2020 with a Master of Physical Therapy. Prior to her graduate studies, she earned a Bachelor in Kinesiology and worked as a kinesiologist, building a strong foundation in movement and rehabilitation. Since graduating, she has worked in private practice physiotherapy and remains dedicated to ongoing postgraduate education, including completing fellowships in Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) and Facial Palsy. Additionally, Marissa is certified in Intramuscular Stimulation (AN-IMS), Orthopaedic Division Manual Therapy Level 1, and has completed further training in the treatment of scoliosis and kyphosis. Her passion for helping people with jaw and facial discomfort stems from her own personal experience growing up with dental and jaw issues, inspiring her to want to help others with jaw/face related pain and to raise awareness about the importance of treatment in this area. Marissa takes a whole-person approach to care, considering the physical, emotional, and lifestyle factors that may impact recovery. She is passionate about collaborating with clients to create individualized treatment plans that align with their goals. Drawing on education, manual therapy, and evidence-based exercise prescription, she works with clients of all ages and fitness levels to help them return safely and effectively to their usual activities and hobbies — or simply get back to feeling like themselves. Marissa grew up in the Fraser Valley and Tri-Cities where she developed a lifelong love for staying active and exploring nature. Having danced competitively from a young age, she remains connected to the dance community and enjoys incorporating movement and rhythm into her daily life. Outside of the clinic, Marissa loves hiking local trails, going for walks, and discovering new ways to move/exercise. For downtime, she’s a big fan of binge-watching reality TV and discovering new local coffee shops and is always open to any new recommendations!
