Dr. Spencer Cruttenden I’m a chiropractor and former certified strength and conditioning specialist, practicing since 2010. I believe that healthcare is self-care, and my job is to restore balance and optimize the body’s natural healing ability. This balance can come in many forms. Passively, through the use of chiropractic manipulation, soft tissue techniques, and other therapies. Actively, I use the gym for correcting posture, movement patterns and safe and effective exercise to keep that balance for longer. Other factors may play a smaller or larger role in your health. Everything from diet to stress management to unresolved trauma. I may not treat it all, but I can help you uncover the things limiting the health and life you truly want. My hope is to be a trusted guide in your health, directing you towards the appropriate therapies, even if they aren’t within this office. One of the most important components to effective treatment is time. Time allows for the presence and communication necessary to really understand your health needs and goals. Most of my appointments are a half hour, allowing for a better connection and broader treatment than the standard chiropractic appointment. I spent most of the last 20 years in Truckee, establishing a successful clinic with a vibrant wellness community. Recently, I moved to Portola, seeking open space, quieter roads, and a mellower pace of life. I now split my work time between the two locations, providing holistic healthcare to both Tahoe and the lost Sierra. When not treating clients, I spend as much time as I can in the outdoors with my two sons. When I do have a free minute, you’ll find me mountain biking, backcountry snowboarding or playing guitar.
