Adriano Silva Bio My name is Adriano Silva and I am a registered acupuncturist in Alberta. I have been working as an acupuncturist since 2003 starting in the beautiful Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 2009 I had to interrupt my career in order to immigrate to Canada. I have a 4 year Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy and a 3 year Post-Grad degree in TCM acquired in Rio de Janeiro Brazil at ABACO CBA(Brazilian College of Acupuncture), where I am originally from. I then specialized in Sports Medicine and Postural corrective techniques(Posturology and Postural Functional Rehabilitation). I also completed the Postural Clinical Pilates course at the same time. As I arrived in Canada I learned I had to return to school in order to apply for the Board exams. I then successfully started and completed the 3 year TCM(Tradicional Chinese Medicine)course at the ACATCM (Alberta College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine)and passed the board exams in 2021. I have been practicing for the last 2 years in my own clinic(Dr Adriano Silva Acupuncture), and the practice is growing every day. My specialties and passion are Sports Medicine and Movement/Postural disorders. I share my time between my practice and ADirection Pilates, where I am the owner and Master instructor. I deeply believe our bodies’ health walk side by side with our mental health, that being said, I go above and beyond to help my patients/clients achieve their best mental balance. To achieve that I use a combination of TCM Acupuncture, Pilates and lifestyle change advising, which I call the Healing Trilogy. In my spare time, I enjoy Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, Swimming and specially Pilates training.
This assessment includes questions related specifically to your main complaint. The Acupuncturist will want to address the relief of that same main condition. We will likely take your pulse, feel your abdomen, perform main complaint related tests and inspect the tongue before the needling begins. The treatment consists on application of sterile, very thin needles through your skin at strategic points on your body.
