Yassir was born and raised in St. John’s Newfoundland and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) in 2007 from Dalhousie University. Yassir is an active member with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Physiotherapists; he is also registered with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Yassir has a big sports background, playing everything from Hockey, Basketball, Soccer, Football, Frisbee, Volleyball and Track. In his spare time he enjoys hiking, mountain biking, trail running, fishing, working out and swimming. Yassir especially enjoys the problem solving side of physiotherapy and takes a keen interest in knee and shoulder rehab which he has had surgeries himself as a consequence of sports related injuries. Certifications & Clinical Focus: Advanced Manual Therapy: Extensive training in Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy (Level 3 Lower Quadrant / Level 2 Upper). Needling & Acupuncture: Dual-certified in Acupuncture (AFCI) and Functional Dry Needling (Spine & Extremities). Sports Rehab: Former therapist for the U16 Canadian National Soccer Team training camp, Dalhousie Women’s Hockey, and St. Mary’s Men’s Soccer. Injury Prevention: Specialized training in Soft-Tissue Release, Strength Rehabilitation, and Running Injuries.
