Carmen graduated in 2011 from Texas Healing Arts Institute in Austin, TX, and specializes in Neuromuscular Massage aka Trigger Point Therapy for injury recovery and chronic pain. She has studied and practiced a wide variety of modalities, including Myofascial Release, Orthopedic massage, Cupping, Kinesio taping, Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Hot Stones, Ayurveda, Reiki, Prenatal, Postpardum, Oncology massage, and Somatic massage for PTSD and anxiety. She taught Trigger Point Therapy and Self-Care Techniques at the Burke Williams Academy in Inglewood, CA, and has personally trained over 400 therapists at the luxurious Burke Williams Spa in several locations in southern California. She aims to create experiences that are both deeply rejuvenating and extremely effective. Every massage is customized, goal-oriented and includes a creative combination of modalities and techniques. She is also available to assist in helping create and adjust self-care routines to optimize energy, peace of mind, range of motion, and decrease pain. Along with practicing massage at Thrive Integrative Medicine, Carmen is also the Massage Services Coordinator, overseeing bodywork services at Thrive and coordinating events in our community.
