Emily started her professional body-work career in 1999 after graduating with honours from the 2,200 hour program at the Shiatsu School of Canada. From there, she was also certified as a Reflexologist, and in 2006 became a Registered Massage Therapist, graduating with honours from the Canadian Therapeutic College. Emily is a compassionate person who believes in the healing power of touch. She enjoys the challenge of creating personalized treatment plans to help her clients meet their goals, and develop confidence in their bodies. You can request a tailored treatment of a single modality or a combination of all three of her areas of specialty (Shiatsu, Reflexology, or Swedish Massage). In addition to these 3 umbrellas, Emily also incorporates holistic facial massage, and cranial-sacral therapy (CST-1) for a deeper relaxation and reset. Treatments can be focused to decrease acute and chronic injury and discomfort, to restore and balance energy and/or organ function, and to provide emotional stress and anxiety management. Emily also has a special interest and years of experience in treating women in many states of health and stages of life. Emily also loves to provide Hara treatment (abdominal massage) upon request. Hara (“Sea of Ki”, or Life-Force, in Japanese) massage helps release deeper areas of tension, aids to treat the root of an illness, improves symptoms of poor digestion, insomnia, menstrual syndromes, and decreases stress and anxiety. It also helps to support conception by helping relax, reduce stress, and improving circulation to the reproductive meridians (energetic pathways). With all these tools and years of experience, Emily’s caring hands provide a very nurturing and effective massage. She’s excited to be part of the Origin Wellness team and — as a fellow east-ender— takes pride in working in the community.
Massage
An ideal length for a general full body treatment, or for great detailed work on half the body, a thorough assessment and home care program, and to fully decompress.
Reflexology
Our holistic facial is performed by an RMT. This soothing, therapeutic treatment focuses on the most delicate muscles that we use constantly: the face and jaw. The treatment includes warm towels, Swedish and lymphatic massage, and includes cupping and gua sha. The products used are all-natural and hypoallergenic and will help refresh and restore you. The treatment can increase your immune response, reduce sinus/ ear congestion, and improve the symptoms of TMJ dysfunction and headaches. It boosts collagen production, softens fine lines and increases nutrient delivery to rejuvenate your skin, promoting a healthy glow. 30 minutes of Reflexology is included as part of this treatment.
