6081 No. 3 Road, Unit 613, Richmond, BC, V6Y 2B2
Dr. Romi Fung is a Naturopathic Doctor practicing independently at the Three West Centre in Richmond, BC. As a passionate, driven, and motivated clinician in integrative and functional medicine focused on optimal wellbeing and natural health, Dr. Fung looks to inspire and empower his patients through education; He believes in the Naturopathic Oath, Docere meaning Doctor as Teacher. Educating his patient community, his colleagues, and future clinicians in understanding the importance of health, wellness, and human anatomy and physiology is the first step in implementing lasting changes and balance. Dr. Fung completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Simon Fraser University followed by graduating from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine as a Doctor in Naturopathic Medicine. While building his practice, Dr. Fung went on to complete a Master of Science in Aging and Health from Queens University and was subsequently offered acceptance to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in Aging and Health also from Queens University. At this time, Dr. Fung has completed his comprehensive exams and is now a Ph.D. candidate. He is currently pursuing his dissertation in exploring deprescribing methodology and perspectives. Dr. Fungs passion lies in cognitive health and dementia. Dr. Fung believes that there is more to dementia than just working with the brain; many metabolic and biochemical factors affect our brain stemming from the body. It is not as if our brains (and heads!) are detached from the body. But instead, what happens in the body also occurs in the head. He believes naturopathic medicine takes a powerful stance in addressing these factors that affect our brains. He takes a comprehensive approach in working with his patients, from screening for inflammation, insulin resistance, and hormones while working on their lifestyles, which contribute significantly to our brain health. To further his approach to dementia, Dr. Fung has completed numerous training and courses, including the Bredesen ReCODE Protocol, Kharrazian Institute Certificate in Cognitive Decline and Dementia Clinical Strategies and Treatment Applications, is a Certified Brain Health Professional through Dr. Daniel Amen and Amen University, and has obtained Pharmaceutical Prescribing rights in the province of British Columbia, Canada. Dr. Fung is also an Adjunct Clinical Faculty supervising senior interns in training to become naturopathic physicians at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine - Boucher Campus. He also is an instructor in the Traditional Asian Medicine department at the same institution.
