Dr. Marissa Yu, is a dedicated physical therapist born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Sport Sciences from the University of the Pacific and went on to receive her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences. Growing up playing basketball, Marissa experienced her own share of injuries, giving her a deep understanding that recovery is a journey with both challenges and progress along the way. She believes strongly in the importance of preparation before performance to prevent injuries and optimize patient outcomes. This personal perspective shapes her compassionate and patient-centered approach to develop an individualized treatment plan. Marissa is passionate about using a holistic approach to help individuals regain confidence in their bodies and return to the activities they love. She focuses on empowering her patients to envision and achieve the life they want, while celebrating progress at every step. Known for her positive energy, she brings encouragement, optimism, and even the occasional dance break into her sessions to make rehabilitation both effective and enjoyable.
