Carman has been practicing physiotherapy for more than 20 years in the area of sports and orthopaedics. He is an UBC alumni and clinical instructor in the UBC Masters of Physical Therapy Program. He is actively involved with mentoring physiotherapists who are pursuing their Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal (AIM) physiotherapy certifications. He attained his FCAMPT designation in 2010 (Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manual and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists) and has extensive experience treating complex spinal and orthopedic conditions. His 15 years of IMS needling experience (ChanGunnIMS) has helped treat many people with myofascial and neuropathic pain conditions. He has good experience with concussions & vestibular rehabilitation, and temporomandibular disorders (TMD). Carman has always enjoyed an active lifestyle! He enjoys team sports and has played in soccer, hockey and multisport leagues. He can be seen road cycling, and completed the North Shore Triple Crown in the past. He enjoys playing with his toddler son, planning that next big trip, and finding the next happy hour with friends! Treatment Philosophy: Carman believes in an integrated approach to helping people return to their best form. This begins with looking at the person as a whole with an accurate and detailed physical assessment. This is followed by specific education, manual therapy, IMS needling or myofascial release, and an individualized corrective exercise program. He has seen the significant impact physiotherapy has had over the years in helping people become painfree, and being able to move healthier and happier.
