Alejandra was born in Colombia and moved to North Vancouver at the age of seven. Growing up, she was an avid swimmer and water polo player, which led her to earn a swimming scholarship and complete her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise and Sport Science. She went on to complete her Master of Physical Therapy at Queen’s University in Ontario. Alejandra’s fascination with the human body, combined with her own experiences as an athlete and her passion for helping others, naturally led her to a career in physiotherapy. Early in her career, she discovered a strong calling toward women’s and pelvic health, an area she has now specialized in for over five years. Recognizing the significant gap in healthcare surrounding these issues, Alejandra is passionate about empowering women with knowledge about their bodies and helping them improve their quality of life. A message she often shares with her clients is: “It’s common, but not normal to experience [symptom].” She believes in breaking the stigma around pelvic health and supporting women to seek care they deserve — especially during the prenatal and postpartum stages. In her treatments, Alejandra takes a holistic and compassionate approach. She meets clients where they are, beginning by listening to their goals and understanding their “why.” Her practice incorporates manual therapy, dry needling, exercise rehabilitation, taping, and thorough education. She emphasizes collaboration, adapting plans as needed because, as she says, “life happens.” Beyond pelvic health, Alejandra also treats mastitis and clogged ducts, as well as general orthopedic injuries across all stages of life. She is thrilled to be returning to work in January after maternity leave, bringing new insight and empathy from her own postpartum journey to her clients. And yes — she’s fluent in Spanish!
