Welcome! I truly love massage therapy and get great joy from helping people feel more relaxed, comfortable, and renewed in their own bodies. When Im not working, youll often find me walking my dogs or staying active with exercisethese keep me grounded and even more present for my clients. As a retired professor turned massage therapist, I bring the same integrity, genuine caring, attentiveness, and insight to every session that defined my academic career. Just as I guided students to unlock their potential, I now help clients tap into their body's innate healingincluding natural relief from stress-related tension and chronic painthrough slow, steady, deep relaxation techniques that activate the parasympathetic nervous system. Everyday stress keeps your fight-or-flight system revved up, causing exhaustion, tension, lowered immunity, the exacerbation of chronic pain, and poor sleep. My precise techniques shift you the other way, activating your parasympathetic nervous system. Your heart rate and blood pressure drop naturally, easing strain on your body Breathing slows and deepens, flooding you with calm Muscles release long-held tension without force Digestion and nutrient absorption kick back inyour body starts repairing and recharging Feel-good chemicals like endorphins and serotonin flow, melting away anxiety and boosting your mood Inflammation cools, your immune system strengthens, and true healing begins at the cellular levelincluding natural relief from stress-related or tension-driven pain This isn't just relaxation; it's science-backed restoration. Your massage will let your body do what it does best when it's truly at rest: recover, rejuvenate, and thrive. Massage Therapy Research Review (2017) This comprehensive overview of numerous studies demonstrates that massage enhances the bodys relaxation response, reduces stress hormones, increases beneficial brain chemicals, and supports relaxation and healing. Participants frequently experienced improved sleep, lower blood pressure, enhanced circulation, slower heart rate, reduced pain (such as during labor or headaches), faster recovery after exercise, and decreased stress and anxiety overall.https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC5564319
