Jonathan Kerr has over 25 years of experience as a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and has additional degrees majoring in biophysics, a minor in particle physics focusing on nosocomial infections and a second major in medical anthropology with a focus on orthomolecular medicine and a second minor in gerontological science. Additionally, Jonathan has 3 diplomas focusing on health science, computer science and mathematics. Jonathan’s clinical focus is with cervacogenic vertigo, MDDS, jaw and neck disorders including TMD, pre migraine syndrome, migraines, chronic headaches, knee pain syndromes, low back pain syndromes and a range of myofascial pain syndromes. In addition, Jonathan has about 5 years experience working in a medical post operative setting dealing with pain, swelling and rehabilitation. Clinical focus is always a systems approach (big picture) with a strong focus on neurology. Clinical techniques range from manual therapy, bone/joint alignment, exercise therapy, needling techniques, cupping, device assisted manual therapy and electrotherapy using needles or devices such as TENS and IFC. Jonathan practices in a socially accountable manner. Not all people can afford therapy. Accordingly, he will do his best to meet the needs of those in financial strain. Also he provides a clinical environment safe for those in the LGBTQ community. It’s unfortunate, but discrimination still occurs and Jonathan aims to help mend the issue along with his colleagues at Nickelridge physiotherapy.
