In early adulthood, I began to take an holistic approach to my health. The mind-body-spirit connection, natural medicine, whole foods–these were all new concepts for me at the time, and opened me to a way of living that has a foundation in self-care and self-awareness. I left my corporate job in the Midwest and moved to San Francisco, where I studied shiatsu massage and colon hydrotherapy and practiced both for three years. I then decided to pursue a master’s degree in Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine in Portland, OR, which really altered my worldview and increased my appreciation of the magnificence of the human body. About halfway through grad school, I became pregnant with twins, and my winding career path took a long pause. In 2016 my family moved to Maryland, and a few years later I decided to revisit massage therapy as a profession. In early 2021, I graduated from the Potomac Massage Training Institute. Because of my interest in Chinese Medicine, I learned cupping not long after, and love incorporating this into sessions. I continue to explore the restoration of balance in the body by addressing the relationship between our nervous system and fascia.
