Kirsten became a Certified Athletic Therapist because it joined two of her passions in life – injury rehabilitation and sports. She graduated from Lakehead University with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2005. She went on to Mount Royal College for an Advanced Certification in Athletic Therapy, completed in 2006. She took the National Certification Exam, graduating in 2007 as a Certified Athletic Therapist. She has been active all her life, involved with sports from all aspects: as a viewer, athlete, coach and provider of medical coverage. She takes a full body approach to her Athletic Therapy (AT) treatments, which include a combination of Biomechanical Assessments, Soft Tissue Release, Myofasical Release, Manual Techniques, Functional Range Release and Conditioning Programs to provide her clients with a safe and speedy recovery. She is always looking to further her knowledge and takes many continuing education course, some of her most recent include becoming a prenatal Athletic Therapist and First Responder Instructor. Kirsten is the Head Certified Athletic Therapist for the Ottawa Black Bears NLL team.
