Carol was born and raised in Montreal, Québec. She is a registered physiotherapist that completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia and her Masters of Physical Therapy from McGill University provided in extension at the University of Québec in Chicoutimi. Carol believes in a client-centered approach that involves Pilates, traditional exercises, manual skills and education to empower her clients to achieve their functional goals. Carol loves treating prenatal and post-partum clients and particularly enjoys treating diastasis rectus abdominis (DRA), abdominoplasty, coccydynia and a variety of other pelvic girdle pains. She believes that women should feel empowered, confident, and strong through their care. Carol hopes that her previous experience as a gymnast will be an asset to her Pilates skills as she often incorporates flexibility, strength and fluidity of movement into her practice. Previously to joining Bump Physio & Co, Carol worked for many years in private and public practice with clients with neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and post-concussion syndrome. She hopes to blend her two passions into one by being able to treat individuals with bowel and bladder conditions in neurological clients. Carol loves continuing her education and has taken numerous courses including: Breast Cancer Rehabilitation Pelvic Health Solutions 1 Pregnancy, Pelvic girdle and Pelvic floor Bowel and Bladder Treatment of the Client with Neurological Condition STOTT Mat Pilates Calibrate Pilates Instructor Paincare Yoga Certified Neuro-Developmental Theory (NDT) Therapist Concussion Management Workshop Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Comprehensive Introduction Parkinson’s Wellness Recovery Allied Team Training for Parkinson’s Changing Parkinson’s: Exercise as the Primary Treatment Outside of the clinic, Carol loves going on adventures with her puppy, exploring the mountains, running, yoga and baking. Carol is also fluent in French.
Please choose this option if you are seeking support for general musculoskeletal physiotherapy services (or postpartum aches and pains unrelated to your pelvis) and are: 1.) new to our clinic; or 2.) it has been more than 6 months since your last visit. Common aches and pains we treat include: neck and back pain, headaches, TMJ and jaw pain, wrist pain or carpal tunnel, shoulder pain, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation for all orthopaedic conditions, and pain related to altered posture and movement mechanics. For continuity of ongoing care please also book 3 follow-up visits at 2 week intervals with the same practitioner.
