Naturopath
A Naturopathic Doctor is a general physician who focuses on treatment of any disease illness. If there are no present conditions, then the focus is shifted towards disease prevention and health maintenance. An ND spends time to take a full and detailed health history, in order to develop a comprehensive treatment plan. In terms of treatment, Naturopathic doctors use many modalities including lifestyle changes (nutrition, exercise), proper supplementation, botanical, acupuncture, cupping, counselling and homeopathy. The variation of health issues seen include and are not limited to digestive health, mental health, autoimmune conditions, chronic disease, musculoskeletal pain, skin health, fertility, pregnancy and hormonal health. Although we do not prescribe pharmaceuticals, we work very closely with them by managing side effects or correcting deficiencies. Naturopathic doctors work very closely with bloodwork and spend time going through results with patients. We focus on treating the root cause of disease and provide patient centered care. Appointments are an appropriate length which are needed to gather a health history and discuss protocols, ranging from 30 minutes to 60 minutes.
