Pregnancy and postpartum acupuncture offers gentle support for both physical recovery and overall wellbeing. Research suggests acupuncture may help with pregnancy-related discomforts, and it is also used by some patients as part of a broader fertility care plan to support reproductive outcomes, either on its own or alongside IVF or IUI. Please complete your intake form before booking so we can review your health history and tailor treatment to your stage of care.

A 60‑minute initial visit with Dr. Gehana Shankar, ND for people who are pregnant or in the postpartum period and new to naturopathic care at Killarney Health. We’ll review your health history, pregnancy or birth story, current symptoms and concerns (such as nausea, digestion, blood pressure, blood sugar, recovery, lactation, sleep, or mood), and your goals for this stage. From there, we’ll design a safe, individualized plan to support you and your baby.

During this first session, we’ll take time to talk through your health concerns in detail. We may discuss your past medical history, current medications or supplements, dietary concerns, and any recent blood work. If needed, your naturopathic doctor may also recommend additional lab work, which can be completed at any LifeLabs location. If any tests are recommended, you will be invoiced only if you choose to proceed after your consultation. Most insurance plans cover services provided by naturopathic doctors, but we recommend checking your coverage in advance.
