Val Lange (she/they) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), expressive arts therapist, biodynamic craniosacral therapist, wholistic bodyworker, and aerial yoga teacher. As a Clinical Counsellor, I have an M.A. in Expressive Arts Therapy and Psychology, and additional training in Hakomi Method and focusing-based somatic therapy. Sessions are a woven tapestry of somatic embodied awareness, mindfulness tools, parts work, internal family systems, family constellations and expressive arts therapy. I have had the privilege of holding safe space for healing and trauma recovery across a variety of community agencies. I have worked with marginalized populations in addictions recovery, with survivors of intimate partner violence, and with new moms living below the poverty line in Vancouver’s downtown eastside. As a Bodyworker, I hold a 2,200 hour Massage Therapy Diploma (RMT in Alberta) from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. I have over 20 years of experience and have worked with hundreds of bodies and musculoskeletal conditions. I have additional Ayurvedic Bodywork training in Abhyangha and Shirodhara and I am honoured to work alongside the wonderful teachers and holistic practitioners at MĀ Wellness and Yoga. I am deeply appreciative of the spiritual teachers which have influenced my path. I have spent time in Buddhist Tibetan monasteries, vipassana centres and with plant medicines and Indigenous knowledge keepers. I am a queer settler committed to supporting bodies of all genders and orientations. I divide my time between Victoria BC and Cortes Island BC.
