Addictive Touch Massage
506 W. Morris Ave, Hammond, LA, 70403
Why Did I Become A Massage Therapist? I have always had a passion and desire to help people feel better. I've seen so many individuals become addicted to drugs, alcohol, and pain-killers in an attempt to escape the pressures of daily living; to find relief from physical discomfort; to soothe their anxieties, or to simply relax. Since I've always known that my hands are gifted and have oftentimes been told that my touch alone has given others a sense of peace; I figured being addicted to touch would be a better option for people to experience instead of drugs, alcohol or other substances. Massage is not just about being rubbing on someone. Massage provides a handful of health benefits as well. Massage was used by several ancient cultures to treat all types of injuries and has been known to aid in the healing of terminal health conditions. Massage therapy continues to hold its place as one of the most effective, safe, and natural ways to treat mental and physical ailments such as Pain, Anxiety, and Depression. My overall purpose as a Licensed Massage Therapist is to help you feel better and improve your quality of life through the power of touch.
Massage
Massage therapy can help spinal cord injury patients achieve both mental and physical relief. It can also help stimulate muscles below the site of injury, help lengthen spastic muscles to increase range of motion, reduce stiffness, increase blood flow for optimal functioning, promote relaxation of muscle tissues, which reduces the occurrence of painful muscle contractions. May also decrease stress hormone levels while increasing serotonin levels to assist in regulating mood, digestion, and quality of sleep.
Lymphatic Drainage
This is a 60 minutes manual lymph drainage massage which can be administered 24 hours after plastic surgery or body sculping procedures. This massage helps to relieve discomfort from fluid build up by using massage strokes to move lymph fluid in such a way to help organs eliminate fluid and toxins from the body. (The client will disrobe position themself on a massage table, massage chair, or in a standing position.)
