Sophie brings a try-hard attitude to whatever she does. As a former tree planter, lifeguard, and supervisor for a children’s outdoor education school, Sophie has many seasons of physically demanding work under her belt and understands how setbacks from injuries or pain can impact one’s well-being and livelihood. With each client, Sophie works together as a team to identify meaningful goals, using a combination of manual therapy and exercise to move towards recovery. Whether your goals relate to high performance sport, day-to-day activities or anything between, she is keen to help you achieve them through an evidence-based approach. Off the clock, her current favourite pursuits include backpacking, backcountry skiing, marathon running, and climbing. She has also been a climbing instructor for the past two years, helping both beginner and seasoned climbers train efficiently on and off the wall. The only thing that can keep her sitting still for hours is a good crochet project. Fortunate to call many beautiful places home, Sophie grew up in Fukuoka, Japan, spent many summer seasons working and playing in the East Kootenay, and has enjoyed living in Vancouver for the past several years. She is happy to offer physiotherapy services in both English and Japanese.
